About “His Time”

Hi. I’m Lorie, Owner of His Time. Thank you so much for joining me on this page. I am so glad you are here. If you were right here with me, I would pour us a cup of coffee and light a candle as we talked. It only feels right to include in this website what “His Time” means to me. So here we go…

My first batch of candles I ever poured were in silver tins with beautiful sea foam colored wax, adorned with tiny seashell wax embeds. I fell in love with the fragrance, the colors, the process, the creativity. To this day, I call them my “First Pour”. I love to play worship and instrumental music  while making the candles, melting down wax, & preparing the vessels. I feel fulfilled with using the expression of creativity God gave me.

I knew I was going to love making candles for a long time & was toiling with the idea of selling the candles in local markets and online. Soon after, I had a dream of a candle with the words on it… “His Time”. I knew the Lord was giving me the name of our business.

Now I would like to share with you the deeper things of “His Time”… my faith, my heart.

I’ve loved God since I was a little girl and could understand the gospel message. I accepted by faith and later encountered Him more deeply. Many times though I have struggled with feeling guilty if I felt like I haven’t spent time with Him or talked to Him, but I have learned over the years that God doesn’t want me drowning in guilt or old religious mindset ways, but to simply turn to Him at anytime or any place and just start talking to Him again. He is always there. I always try to over complicate things. I learned & experienced that it is God and He alone that satisfies my soul. He satisfied my every longing and for this, I am forever grateful.

We make time for everything else… be it “me time”, “family time”, “work time”, vacation time”, “dinner time”… and the list goes on, but do we make time for Him? Why not make room for the One who created you. He knows you better than you know yourself. He sees you through and through and yet He still chooses you! When you search for Him with your whole heart , you will find He’s been there waiting for you right from the start.

God’s plan was always to be with us. I like to think He wanted some company. However, sin is what got in the way when Adam and Eve didn’t obey God and chose to listen to another voice. God is a Holy God and sin was separating us & I believe God was grieved. Even though sin came, God still made a way.

He made a way through His son Jesus. God & Jesus are One. God came to save us through His son Jesus Christ. Jesus, came being fully man and fully God at the same time, was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.

In days of old, men/women would take animals to the priest to have them slaughtered to atone for their sins, but when Jesus came He was the ultimate sacrifice. His cousin John said, when he saw Jesus coming, “Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”. John 1:29

And that’s what Jesus did for you and for me when He died on the cross.  He became the sacrifice, He died in our stead, a ransom for our sins, He made atonement for us once and for all.

Three days later, he rose from the grave just as the scriptures said He would. He appeared again to His disciples and to many others before His Father took Him up in the clouds to be at His right hand.

This is your great rescue. This is the great news. This is now where you have the choice to believe or not believe. He will not force Himself. He is a gentlemen. The choice is yours. He gave His life for you. Will you give your life for Him? He is waiting for you. Come just as you are… all the grime & all the pride. He’s the only One that can wash you white as snow.

When you accept him as Lord and believe He is the son of God, you will be given eternal life with Him forever. The scriptures teach us that we are actually born again when this happens and we take on a new nature. All former things are passed away, behold all things have become new” it is now… Christ in us, the hope of glory.

Now we can commune and fellowship with our creator, Father God. Jesus is our way to the Father, like a bridge connecting us to Him. Holy Spirit is our helper and can help us pray. So who do we pray to, who do we talk to? All three. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They are three in one. Imagine a braid… there are three strands but when you braid them together it becomes one. So it is with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Oh, there is so much to learn and love about them and your relationship with them! It’s just the beginning of being established back to where it all began… walking with God in the cool of the day. Not worrying or stressing over anything. Oh I’ll take that any day over this crazy chaotic unsatisfying world. Streams of water, cool of the day, green grass, milk and honey. We come alive in our spirit man, but we will also have the struggle of our own personal flesh living in a fallen world until we pass on to Glory to be with Him forever.

Saying yes to Christ doesn’t mean everything becomes hunky dory in your life. It means you have a hope & light inside you even though things may be dark & gloomy around you. Learning Gods Word becomes your sword & shield. It will help you identify the truth from lies. You will battle good verses evil but you won’t battle alone. He helps and guides you through your journey here and hopefully helping others along the way.

I love the moments with Christ when I can feel His presence, His peace. I know we are not physically in heaven yet but I also remember Jesus says that we are seated with Him in high places so spiritually speaking we are. We are one. I also remember the scriptures where Jesus told us we would have many troubles here, but to take heart that He has overcome the world.

I know It’s hard, but the things we don’t understand here on earth, it’s easier just to trust and surrender those things to Him than try to demand or figure out an answer. There is light and dark, good and evil, love and hate. We must remember God is Love. Love will prevail. He already has and the rest is being unfolded. Trust Him. Let it go. It’s not worth it, but your life in Him is!

I pray we all come into the knowledge of who He is, who we are in Him, and how much He longs to be with us. He is waiting for you. The table is set.
